Academics
The Pamplin School of Business Administration at the University of Portland features some of the Pacific Northwests top-notch faculty and a curriculum integrating professional experience into academic concepts. The program administrator has made this wonderfully run program extremely easy to do while working, as many do, and the university even offers some tuition discounts to those who are seeking Nonprofit Management degrees (a notable program here), as well as scholarships for international students. The school is part of JEBNET, Jesuit Education in Business Network, which is a network of thirty AACSB-accredited universities nationwide that share similarly strong mission statements and provide students the ability to transfer credits and complete their MBA at another university.
The good atmosphere within the classroom is built on the foundation of some of the most engaged professors I have had, according to one student. They seem to really enjoy what they are teaching and a majority do a great job engaging students, and are just as invested in your academic and career advancement as the individual themselves. Most of [the] professors treat me as their family or friends, and Ive learned a lot of practical things from my school, says a student. Varied experiential backgrounds help instructors to provide a well-rounded curriculum.
The schools Catholic ties result in an ideals driven environment, one that also happens to be understanding of students working while attending classes. Most of the students are able to work with professors one on one outside of class. The staff is amazing and the professors are intense, but its an MBA program, so whatd you expect?! says one happy student.
