Regis College (RC)

Regis College is "a small, Catholic liberal arts college" in the suburbs of Boston. The highlights of this "terrific institution" include "rigorous academics," "small classes," and a "close-knit" and "very diverse" student population. The "excellent nursing program" is "very popular." The "welcoming" administration is "always available." "Here at Regis, if you have a problem, there is always someone that can help you," promises a senior. The "extremely supportive and encouraging" professors are "very knowledgeable in their subject areas." "As with anywhere, you will have your teachers who suck" but most professors "really care about their students" and "really enjoy getting to know each student on a personal level." "I have been blessed to have met several very inspiring professors," says a happy junior. "They give you so much attention in and out of the classroom." Regis has been going through something of a transition since going coed, though "The typical student is female because it was an all-women’s college until recently."

Almost anyone can fit in and have a wonderful experience at Regis, reports a junior. "Regis has been trying hard to diversify its student population, and that shows here on campus." "A wide variety" of "social, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups" call this campus home. "There is a huge range of ethnic groups," says a student. While there are "people from all over the world who speak many different languages," the "typical student is your ‘typical’ student." The undergrads at Regis report that they are "friendly," "talkative," "intelligent," "hardworking," "goal-oriented," and "easy to get along with." They are also "energetic, outspoken, and generous." "Most aren’t that into partying and just like to have fun with friends."

Regis boasts a "quiet," "calm," and "beautiful" campus "in a great area" 12 miles from Boston. It’s "small enough so everyone knows everyone else" and there is a real sense of community. "The students value that community and are sentimental about school traditions." "A lot of students participate in some type of sport." Student organizations "try very hard to hold activities on weekends that appeal to students," though most "go home," which can make for a "low-fun atmosphere." Otherwise, "Students spend time with friends during the week while attending classes" and there’s a "nice swimming pool." One student notes that "Regis has become almost a commuter school." "The campus is deserted on the weekend." A shuttle is available for students who want to venture off campus, but "Having a car is almost necessary." "For fun many people leave campus and go to other schools for parties." Of course, "the city of Boston" provides an endless array of things to do.
