01. Overview

What the school is known for:

Those attending Trine University dont hold back in claiming that their school really cares about student success. In fact, as one puts it, everyone from housekeeping to the president loves talking with students and getting to know them on a personal level. A few words used to describe the classes at Trine include engaging, amazing, and excellent. Academics are presented in a very relaxed atmosphere with small class sizes that helps decrease your chances of falling behind. But some of that credit should also be given to Trines accessible, very personable, and knowledgeable professors who are always available outside of class and willing to help or clarify anything you need. Moreover, they truly know how to make class fun. As another explains, The most positive thing about this university is the immense care that professors put into their students futures. Overall, professors are here to see you thrive and want nothing but the best for you.

What students say:

The student body at Trine describes itself as fairly conservative, rural-America type students in a very relaxed atmosphere. Day-to-day, youre guaranteed to see lots of smiles around campus. Of course, since the school is fairly small, everyone knows basically everyone, which certainly helps to keep the vibe very friendly. The size of the school also means its easy to get to know students in classes that you have together. Undergrads are also apt to describe their classmates as genuine, open-minded and close-knit, and they note that anybody that you go up and talk with is very social and approachable. Overall, its easy to find your group of people here at Trine.

08. Campus Life

What students say:

Theres always something going on at Trine University, so youll never be at a loss for things to do. To begin with, the school offers lots of clubs that allow you to get highly involved in many things. While its no secret that fraternity and sorority life is huge at the university, a multitude of other options range from religious organizations to academic clubs, which makes it feel like theres something for everyone. And even if youre not a part of an organization, you can always [find] an event going on somewhere on campus, including movies, bowling, or even visiting hypnotists. Because of the large population of student-athletes, its also quite common to find people practicing or working out in the gym during their free time. And if campus life isnt offering enough, students can always head to Pokagon State Park to hike the trails, go to Ft. Wayne to watch Komets hockey games, or shop in Angola. Finally, its worth noting that while some students acknowledge that the party scene dominates Trine when it comes to late-night activities, others note that they are fun and relatively safe and that people dont pressure you to attend if they arent your scene.
