01. What the School is Known For

From the School

University of Advancing Technology (UAT) located in Tempe, Arizona, is an intimate college uniquely suited to provide students passionate about technology an ideal place to live and grow. UAT is an elite, private University that merges the values of the traditional academy with the modern technology campus, a fusion that enhances our ability to fulfill the mission of educating students in the fields of advancing technology who innovate for our future.

Our University has a rich history founded from humble beginnings to being one of the nation's rising technology universities. UAT was founded in 1983 as the CAD Institute, where students were trained in computer-aided design and engineering. The Institute grew rapidly and educating students in emerging technologies became in high demand, so UAT quickly became an established and accredited University.

Today, our University continues to evolve at the forefront of developing academic programs that focus on expanding new and rising technology, and tend to be unique among academia or emerge years ahead of other schools, such as Creation & Simulation, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Digital Arts, and Business & Innovation majors, as well as our established Game Studies majors that merged artistic and programming aspects long before other colleges chose that focus for themselves.

UAT has the status of being among a select few 100 percent STEM-based universities in the nation. Our advancing technology degree programs are a benchmark of success within academia. UAT leads higher education by re-imagining the future of learning, intellectual property, and talent cultivation to accelerate Arizona and national tech-entrepreneurship. Additionally, UAT's year-round curriculum allows full-time students to graduate in less than three years, allowing students to enter the workforce sooner.

01. Overview
