Students Say

There is a very strong sense of community at Elon Law. We dont treat each other as competition, everyone treats each other as future colleagues, explains one student. This prevailing feeling of mutual support is fostered by the professors who remind us that grades are not to be flaunted and that our peers are our future community. Students generally follow this reminder, which helps make the school a non-competitive environment. In addition to finding support from fellow classmates, students say that professors are amazing and very helpful and truly make it a point to remain engaged with the students. As one student explains, the professors here have an open-door policy and want you to succeed, adding, It wasnt at all the terrifying law school experience I was dreading.
The school does a phenomenal job curating practical experience. As one student explains, The ability to pair you with matches in your field and help facilitate networking connections is one of its greatest strengths. Students frequently cite the residency program as a standout feature of Elon Law. The program requires students to work full-time during one trimester of their second year. The residency program allows your r矇sum矇 to stand out against others and more importantly, it gives you an opportunity to experience what being a lawyer means in all of its different settings. The opportunity to learn in a real-world setting helps students feel prepared for professional life after graduation. As one student elaborates, Elon places a big emphasis on hands-on learning, so it isnt scary to step out into the real world. Most of us will have had actual experience by the time we apply for jobs. Another big draw for the law school is the shortened timeline for graduation. Students can complete the program in two and a half years. While students appreciate the accelerated timeframe, they also note that fitting all the requirements in can be a source of stress and that classes can fill up quickly. However, many students agree that Elon Law's curriculum and professors are academically challenging in the best way.

Campus Life

Students Say

Students resoundingly say that one of Elons greatest strengths is its close-knit community with its extremely supportive, cooperative student body. As one student elaborates, The social environment at Elon is great同eople often study, exercise, relax, and go out for food together. There is a strong bond among the students. Another student concurs: I formed strong relationships that will last me beyond school. Students also appreciate that the law school truly does foster an environment of collaboration rather than competitiveness among peers. One student reports, The school is working toward having a more diverse and equitable program, and I am confident we are generally moving in the right direction. The school also offers opportunities for socialization and engagement, with one student remarking that they were heavily involved in campus life across various organizations and in several different capacities (student organizations, research, mentor, student worker, and more). Another student enjoyed the schools multiple fun events, such as hot dogs at the local baseball game, to bring the students together and help form bonds amongst us. As one student sums up, In all, its easily one of the best academic environments Ive been a part of.
